X. About Competition 

(I) The race shall be conducted in accordance with the latest athletic rules and regulations verified by the CAA (Chinese Athletics Association) , Organization Guideline of Chinese Marathons and Related Races, as well as the rules and regulations of this marathon.

(II) Roll-call

All runners please get ready at the specified time and venue. Elite runners please make it separately 30 minutes before race starts. Those who miss roll-call section would not have their performance recognized by the LOC (Local Organizing Committee). NO Entry once 20 minutes after race starts.

(III) Start Order

Runners shall start off in the following order: ①Elite athletes (whose PB is subject to the data of Class A Marathon results, which is published on “Chinese Marathon” website, from Dec.31, 2019 till race’s registration ending date. It requires: men’s top 35, women’s top 15 for marathon of Class A races, and so the same for half marathon; ②Social runners of marathon ( listed in order of their PB when register, which is subject to the data of Class A Marathon results, which is published on “Chinese Marathon” website, from Dec.31, 2019 till race’s registration ending date); ③Sponsor runners of Marathon; ④Social runners of half marathon (listed in order of each one’s PB when register, which is subject to the A class races published on the CAA’s “Chinese Marathon” web, from Dec.31, 2019 till race’s registration ending date); ⑤Sponsor runners of Half Marathon; ⑥Social runners of Mini Run.

  To guarantee the race safety and order, check-in carpets are set up by the LOC at each entrances of each check-in division, and each runner is required to follow signs and referees’ instructions in each division. Athletes can get valid results only by passing both checkin carpets and timing carpets.

(IV) Start method: One-gun starts.

(V) About Timing

 i) Reactive timing system is adopted. It starts once every runner passes the start line. Runners must wear the disposable timing chips provided by the LOC to get valid results.   

ii) Runners must run passing all timing carpets on the ground one by one, which are respectively placed at the START, every 5km point, 21.0975km point, “U” turn point and the FINISH. Any split time missing at any one timing point would cause invalid results, even though the whole running has been finished within cut-off time.

(VI) Cut-off Time & Km Points   

For safety and fine traffic condition, after the cut-off time at each respective km point, timing carpets would finish working and public traffic would be disclosed. DNF (Do Not Finish) runners within each cut-off time shall stop and quit in time, and may either take pick-up vehicles or public vehicles heading for the finish line. Otherwise, corresponding legal liabilities and compensation responsibilities of any accident arised shall be borne by the runner himself/herself.

Notes: The LOC may adjust the cut-off time ahead of time in case of any unexpected circumstances, hence all runners are required to comply.

(VII) Service of Bag Drop-off and Pick-up

 i) Marathon and half marathon runners shall drop off their race bags according to bib number divisions near the START, and pick up by presenting bibs in post-race service area after the race. No valuables are suggested to be left in deposited bags (e.g., mobile phones, valid credentials, cash, keys, credit cards, iPads, etc.). In case of any damage or loss, runners shall bear responsibilities by themselves.

ii) The race bag pick-up service ends since 15:00 on the race day. Regarding overdue cases please contact the LOC (Tel: 0575-88588981) within 5 working days after the race day. All unclaimed overdue stuff would be disposed at the LOC’s will thereafter.

iii) No bag drop-off service for mini run, owing to the fact that there is no turn-back routes since the start point.

(IX) Medical Aids   

i) At the START, FINISH and every 5km points since the START there are fixed medical aid stations and ambulances

ii) Along the course, peripatetic AED medial server are ready.

iii) Medical service volunteers are allocated for assistance on the course road, ready to provide medical aids and maintain the order. Runners may seek help once needed. During the race, the medical person in charge has the right to issue instructions to terminate the competition and collect their number bibs based on runners’ physical conditions. If the runners do not follow the advice of the on-site medical staff and insists on participating, all consequences and responsibilities arising from the competition shall be borne by the runners themselves. If the runners lose consciousness, the LOC will be automatically entrusted to take all means for first aid, including but not limited to CPR cardiopulmonary resuscitation, AED external defibrillation Emergency vehicles or aviation equipment for rapid transportation, etc.

(X) Awarded runners would receive anti-doping tests according to related rules;

(XI) About Result Certificate: Within 24 hours after the race, results will be uploaded and publicitized on teh fpfficial website. Finishers within cut-off times can log onto the official website (sxym.org.cn) to check results . and can download or print out certificates on their own.

XI. About Participation

(I) Age requirement

1. Marathon: over 20 (born before Dec.31, 2003);

2. Half Marathon: over 16 (born before Dec.31 2007) ;

3. Mini Run: No age requirement;

4. For any of the above category, minors under 18 (born after Dec.31, 2005) could participate only after permitted by their guardians/legal representatives.

(II) Physical Requirement

  Marathon is a heavily loaded, high-intensive and long-distance sport, and is also a high-risk competitive event, hence it highly require physical conditions. Participants ought to be in physical health under basis long-term practice or training in long distances. The LOC recommends all participants to take medical examinations (including ECG examination) in units of local counties or above level in the past year, and conduct self-assessment in conjunction with the inspection reports to confirm physical conditions before registering for the competition. Anyone who has any of the following diseases/conditions is not permitted to participate, and shall bear all the consequences and legal liabilities if breaking rules:

i) Congenital and rheumatic heart diseases;   

ii) Hypertension and cerebrovascular diseases;   

iii) Myocarditis and other cardiac diseases;   

iv) Coronary artery disease and serious cardiac arrhythmia;   

v) Hyperglycemia or hypoglycemia diabetes mellitus;   

vi) Influenza two weeks prior to the race;   

vii) Pregnancy;   

viii) Other diseases unsuitable for sports.

(III) About Registration

1. The race limit is set at 25,000 (incl 8,000 for marathon,10,000 for half marathon and 7,000 for mini run;

2. Runners for registration can log into the official website (sxym.org.cn)

within the specified time and register in accordance with relevant requirements. For the specific registration time and method, please refer to the official notice or Registration Instructions

3. Who are disqualified applicants?

(1) those who break athletic rules and related regulations and are banned by the CAA;

(2) those who break relative rules and regulations stipulated by the LOC or operating units, and are banned by the LOC;

(IV) Registration Fees

1. Registration Fees:

(1) For Domestic Chinese:

Marathon: 150RMB/person

Half Marathon: 150RMB/person 

Mini Run: 50RMB/person

(2) For Overseas:

Marathon: 50USD/person

Half Marathon: 50USD/person 

Mini Run: 20USD/person

(3) Charity Runners: 1,800RMB/person

2. Once your participation is qualified, event category shall not be altered and registration fees are not refundable.

iv) Award for Running Groups (Unit: RMB)   

① Awarded Object: qualified marathon running groups (at least 20 runners in scale in each group, among which there must be at least 1 female runner);

② Counting Method: Sum up top 15 results in each running group. In case there is no female runner runs inter top 15, then the top one result of their female runners would be considered as the 15th place for calculation. The group with shortest time length shall come out in front rank. Running groups would be deprived off ranks provided no female finishers in the group. In case any two or more counting results are equal, then the group with the faster “top-one” time would get priority, and so on. Top 20 groups would be awarded prize money respectively.

③ Awarding Standard: Ranks are subject to net time results.

 ③In Marathon and Half Marathon, prize distributions of rank prize, “Yue Wang” Award or Shaoxing Citizen Award would not be duplicated. One individual winner could only get prize money against the award with the highest prize amount. Individual prize and group prize can both be obtained by one individual winner at the same time;

(II) Prize for breaking records , subject to gun time results:

1. For breaking records of Chinese domestic marathon races (men or women)(for the Champion ONLY): 60,000RMB will be awarded (subject to the final result announced by the CAA before Nov.26, 2023).

2. For breaking records of Shaoxing Marathon (men or women) (only for the top 2 winners): the champion will be awarded 30,000RMB, and the runner-up will be awarded 15,000RMB..

(III) Winner list will be publicized on the official website for 10 working days after the race day. For any objection to the data during the period of publicity, please contact the LOC by presenting authentic and valid evidence. For those who are reported to have violated rules and regulations, their rankings shall be canceled base on investigation and confirmation, and the name space would not be supplementary any more;

(IV) To obtain prize money, prize winners shall present their personal valid bank card number, the information of registering banks, copies of ID card with personal signatures and contact numbers written. After anti-doping tests, qualified winners’ names would be published on official web, and the 15 days thereafter would be considered as valid days for obtaining prize money.  (V) Each of the top 3 winners (both men and women) of Marathon and Half Marathon will be awarded a trophy and a medal. Only finishers within cut-off times can be awarded finishing medals accordingly.

(VI) According to the relevant laws and regulations of China, the above prize money shall be deducted of 20% as personal income tax. The LOC handles this on behalf.

(VII) There is no ranking set up for Mini Run.

 

XIII. Penalty

Video surveillance will be carried out by the LOC at the Starting & Finishing points and every 5km points. Regarding the following behaviors, the LOC shall give different penalties, depending on seriousness of violation, such as

disqualifying the runner, canceling his/her race result, forbidding participation of the next 1-2 years, or giving lifelong suspension.   

(I) Provide false age upon registration or participate with substitutes after registration;   

(II) Carry another participant's timing chip, or carry two or more timing chips while running (including the case that a male runner carries a female runner's timing chip);   

(III) Disobey the specified start order by starting in non-specified areas;   

(IV) Violate the rules when start;   

(V) Finish the race by means of relay;   

(VI) Refuse to stop after cut-off times or return to the course after quitting from the race;   

(VII) Fail to finish the race along the specified route, taking shortcuts or transportation vehicles in stead;   

(VIII) Repeatedly pass the finishing line or get finishing medals and souvenirs without finishing the race;   

(IX) Fail to wear the personal race number bib in correct ways to pass the finishing line;   

(X) Counterfeit number bibs in private, or pass the finishing line using other races’ bibs or previous ones to get medals;   

(XI) Alter, cover up or transfer number bibs in private, which behavior would receive bear liability for all consequences during the race;   

(XII) Access the entry qualification by presenting fake information or by pretending to be overseas participants;   

(XIII) Conduct uncivilized behaviors like open defecation, throwing garbage anywhere, etc.);   

(XIV) Refuse to follow the instructions of working staff, disturb the race or assemble a crowd to make troubles;   

(XV) Other behaviors violating rules and regulations.

 

XIV. Insurance   

The LOC covers accident insurance for each runner. The insurance policy shall be subject to each runner’s registration information. Any wrong registration information will lead to failure of insurance apply, and corresponding responsibilities shall be borne by the runner himself/herself.
